With the launch of the DKW Meisterklasse Type F 2 in April 1932, DKW responded to the oft-repeated demand from dealers and customers for a DKW front-wheel drive vehicle with greater comfort and more generous space. In March 1933, the Reichsklasse model appeared alongside the Meisterklasse, a less expensive version that was available as either a 2-seater or as a 4-seater convertible saloon.
