The first Audi, a new design by August Horch and his technical operations manager Hermann Lange, appeared on the market in May 1910 in the shape of the 10/22 hp model. It was known internally as the Type A. A succession of technical improvements gradually raised its output to 28 hp. The vehicle shown on the picture is the 78th car to have been built in this series and was manufactured in 1911. It is the oldest surviving Audi and is now owned by the national Technical Museum in Prague.
