Horch 8, Type 420 sports convertible, 1931

In the autumn of 1926, the Horch 8, Type 303 was presented, the first German 8-cylinder car to enter series production. With the launch of the 400 series in 1930, the Horch 8 was thoroughly modified and upgraded. From 1931, the 400 series had a modified 8-cylinder engine in four different displacement versions. Another feature of this model series was the offset lower frame, which lowered the centre of gravity to give much better roadholding. The elegant convertible body was manufactured in Horch's own coachmaking department in Zwickau.
