At the end of the 1920s, a general trend could be seen among German carmakers towards large and luxurious vehicles. Wanderer Werke AG in Chemnitz also joined in with this trend, presenting the Type W 11 in the autumn of 1928. This was the first vehicle with a 6-cylinder engine in the Wanderer car range that was available in different body versions.
