Audi Type SS "Zwickau" Pullman saloon, 1929

The Type SS presented in 1929 was a very exclusive car, it was comparatively inexpensive. Its eight-cylinder engine is known as a "Rickenbacker": DKW boss Jörgen Skafte Rasmussen, Audi majority shareholder, had bought the production facilities for six and eight-cylinder engines from the bankrupt estate of the American car company Rickenbacker. These engines were also used at Audi from 1929 to 1932.
