DKW P 15 convertible, 1929

When the Zschopauer Motorenwerke launched the first DKW motorcycle with a 2-cylinder engine in March 1927, the idea came to fruition to convert such an engine to water cooling to allow it to be used for a compact DKW automobile. In June 1928, series production of the compact 2-seater started, which soon met with enthusiastic approval. The unconventional construction with a wooden unitary body made the vehicle light, and despite its small engine agile and manoeuvrable.
