After the Wanderer factory had launched its first motorcycle in 1902, this model was developed and improved at short intervals. The 3 hp model of 1905 was now a proper motorcycle and was significantly different from a normal bicycle. The new model was characterised by a modern engine with vertical valves at the sides, actuated by cams, and a stable frame, optionally with springs on the front fork.
